From the moment Jessica reached out, she had such a clear vision—not just for how the day would look, but for how it would feel. Intimate. Intentional. She didn’t want anything overly girly or staged. She was drawn to simplicity and thoughtful design, to clean lines and beautiful spaces that reflected who she and Greg are. So when they chose the Albert Hotel in Fredericksburg for their wedding day, it couldn’t have been a more perfect fit.
Set right in the heart of Main Street, the Albert is one of Fredericksburg’s newest venues (and quickly becoming one of my favorites). It’s modern in all the best ways: natural textures, beautiful light, and a calming minimalism that still holds onto the soul of the Hill Country. I was so excited to capture a wedding day that so effortlessly celebrated Greg and Jessica’s style—and most importantly, all the love they share with their people.
With a background in architecture, Jessica was immediately drawn to the Albert’s clean design and refined details. And it’s easy to see why. From the bold black accents to the soft, sculptural florals, every part of the day had a quiet rhythm to it. Nothing overdone, just thoughtful beauty that perfectly complemented the space.
The Albert Hotel blends contemporary elegance with historic charm in a way that feels both luxurious and welcoming. Every corner is beautifully curated, and that attention to detail was definitely part of what made this venue a “yes” for Jessica from the very beginning.
One of the moments I’ll never forget happened during the reception. Jessica stood up to give a toast and shared what it meant to her to be a Lusk—how that name carries strength, independence, and a legacy of hard work. “If you’re a Lusk,” she said, “you probably own your own business.” (Which she does—her bake shop, Red Dessert Dive, created the desserts and wedding cake for the day!)
Then she spoke about becoming a King. And how proud she was to step into this new chapter, surrounded by her new family. You could feel how much that moment meant—not just to her, but to everyone in the room. That’s something I’ll always remember about their day: how full of love it was. How present and connected everything felt.
The rest of the evening reflected that same deep joy—hugs, happy tears, the kind of dancing that makes your cheeks hurt from smiling.
The Albert Hotel gave us room to slow down, breathe, and create. It was the perfect space for Jessica and Greg to experience their day fully—without pressure, without posing. Just honest moments and aaaalllll the love in the room.
Their Fredericksburg TX wedding reminded me why I do what I do: to help kindhearted humans capture their love, their story, and their truth, frame by frame. To honor the story that unfolds when you’re present with the people who matter most.
Jessica & Greg, thank you for trusting me to tell this part of your story. It was everything.
Whether you’re getting married at the Albert or somewhere else in the Texas Hill Country, you can count on me to capture the honest moments, the in-between magic, and all the joy as it unfolds around you! I would love to celebrate and document your day. Send me a message anytime here.
♡ With joy, Kari
