The heart behind Kari Creative Photography
at the heart of my work:
My passion is loving people.
As a naturally intuitive person, I’m constantly reading the room, knowing when you need a second, and advocating for you when you are unable to ask for things yourself.
My story starts here
I began my career as a musician and worship leader, but once I came out as a queer woman, it became difficult to find my place within the community. During this time, I also lost touch with much of my family. Despite the loss and the pain of being rejected by those I thought would be my safe place, I was finally living my truth.
In 2020, I met a girl from Texas who quickly stole my heart. And so began my journey from Florida to Fredericksburg. A whole new start with just me, my love, and my camera.
While taking photos for friends and family, I soon found a creative calling that allowed me to keep serving others and celebrate their stories – their truest selves.
With photography I get to show people how beautiful they are in their own skin. I can ensure no couple feels unworthy of how or who they love, because every love story deserves to be told and treasured.

I love bringing film into the mix for my couples.
There's just something about the way film photography softens a moment, adds a little grain, a little warmth, and makes your gallery feel like it could've been pulled from your parents' old photo albums. It's homey. Nostalgic. Timeless in a way that digital alone can't quite capture.
So if you love the idea of your wedding or engagement photos having that lived-in, heirloom feel, like they've been loved for years already, I'd love to talk through incorporating a few rolls of film into your day.
Kari did my engagement photos, and I wish I could give 100 stars. From the start, her sharing what her business is about and how inclusive she is really stood out to us. It felt nice to see somebody so talented want to include all couples.
