What better way to embrace a January wedding than a romantic winter wedding? This is exactly what L & J did. They chose The Videre Estate in Wimberley as the perfect setting for their stunning celebration. Their day overflowed with lush pink and white florals, warm candle lit tables and all the thoughtfully cozy details for what was a freezing Texas day.
L & J’s love story began as best friends, and eventually blossomed into a long distance romance. After a year, L moved from Florida to live with J in Texas. I was so excited when they reached out, and it has been an absolute honor to capture their love, their deep respect for each other and their shared sense of humor.
A short drive from the historic square of Wimberley, The Videre Estate is a gorgeous luxury ranch wedding venue. Between the sprawling and secluded Hill Country scenery, their 8-acre lake and beautifully renovated event spaces and stunning lodgings, this venue really has it all.
This was my first time shooting at The Videre Estate and it truly blew me away with all the amenities and thoughtful details from the spacious getting ready suites to the Hall itself.
With multiple hair and makeup stations, dreamy decor, a kitchen & dining area and plenty of natural light – The Château at The Videre Estate provided a luxurious oasis for Lara and her girls.
L also had some of my all-time favorite wedding details that effortlessly fit her romantic winter wedding vibe. I still can’t get over their invitations that look like they came out of a regency love story and those sky blue Badgley Mischka heels. 🤩
And while the setting and details were *chef’s kiss*, it’s always the tender in-between moments that say it all. This included the sweet moment when L Facetimed one of her bridesmaid’s who couldn’t be there. Seeing how loved she was from afar was definitely a teary-eyed moment.
The Château’s vintage green doors also made for some sweet portraits (and fit her winter wedding color palette perfectly).
Meanwhile, J and the guys got ready at The Videre Estate’s Palomino Lounge. This space is located in the venue’s renovated stables and has plenty of room to lounge and offers some fun with a pool table and shuffleboard. The modern stable interior was also a stunning spot for some portraits of J.
L and J wanted to make time in their schedule to take their wedding party portraits before the ceremony, giving them more time for family portraits, their couples portraits and quality guest time after the wedding ceremony.
Their group portraits in front of their floral and vine covered huppah (by Angie at Evember Floral Design) and their playful sense of humor with their people was so fun to document. ♡
After portraits outside, L headed back inside to warm up, and I used the opportunity to get some gorgeous bridal portraits of Lara sitting in front of the Château’s grand fireplace. The Videre Estate fit their romantic winter wedding vision perfectly.
Continuing in their classy and romantic winter wedding theme, their outdoor ceremony overlooked the estate’s 8-acre lake and was framed by the lush and dreamy florals of their huppah. The ceremony musicians played violin and a harp. Their wedding painter Camille did a live painting of the ceremony. J’s face was filled with emotion as he watched L walk down the aisle with her parents. The whole ceremony was a love-filled dream.
As L and her family are Jewish, they finished the ceremony with the Jewish tradition of breaking the glass.
The couple kicked off the celebration with family & friend photos in front of the huppah. It was so fun seeing them greeted by their loved ones as Mr. & Mrs. Their joy was overflowing.
While their guests enjoyed cocktail hour, L and J explored the Videre Estate with me to take portraits of their just-married-bliss. We took some super fun and romantic getaway car portraits, as well as portraits around the grounds of the estate.
Between the golden table settings, the candle light and lavish pink and white floral runners, the classic romantic winter wedding vibes were on full display during their reception at Videre Hall. The fireplace was lit behind their sweethearts table, the espresso bar and artisan cigars were keeping everyone cozy and warm.
For the reception, L pulled up her dress train into a stunning bow, they both switched out their dress shoes for comfier styles and began the reception with the sweetest first dances.
It was really important to both L and J to have all their guests and loved ones captured as part of their celebration, and it’s always fun when I can catch all the little moments of the couple mingling with their people.
From the cake cutting to the last quiet dance together, their romantic winter wedding was so one to remember.
I love incorporating fun and unique ideas from my couples, and Lara and Jordan really wanted to take some flash portraits outside. These photos cozied up in and around the classic Corvette added an edgy, classy vibe to their already dreamy day.
I love L & J’s love, their kind and playful personalities and how they entrusted me with every memory of their romantic winter wedding.
♡ With joy, Kari
