There’s no question, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is a Fredericksburg favorite when it comes to engagement photos. As a Fredericksburg wedding photographer, the stunning granite formations set amongst panoramic Texas Hill Country views always have some sort of magic to make every session unique. But, I absolutely love that Ivy & Barrett added a little twist to make their engagement photos all their own.

After chatting with them, they decided they wanted to follow up their Enchanted Rock session in true celebratory fashion, by stopping for drinks at the gorgeous new Sage Restaurant and Lounge in downtown Fredericksburg.

While hiking up to the summit, there are so many formations and spots along the way to get some equally stunning views. This landmark is deeply set into the hearts of Fredericksburg locals and those just visiting. Watching the sun sink over the Hill Country is always worth the trip, and makes for some truly magical engagement photos.

A Fun Post-Enchanted Rock Engagement Photos Idea

I love, love, love when couples come to me with ideas on customizing their engagement photos. So I was very excited to join Ivy & Barrett on a little post-hike date for drinks at the Sage Restaurant in downtown Fredericksburg.

The Sage was truly perfect for their engagement photos – not only because the staff were so open and accommodating – but it has this really edgy and fun lounge vibe that allowed Ivy & Barrett to relax, sip some amazing cocktails and just enjoy each other’s company. I am 100% here for all the engagement sessions at local lounges and hangouts!

    Whether it’s somewhere sentimental or simply because you want to try out a new spot you’ve been eyeing, your engagement photos are a great way to reminisce or create new memories. Try to focus on making it a memorable experience rather than just a “venue” for taking photos.

  • Don’t feel like you have to buy fancy new outfits you’ll only ever wear for your session.

    All the wardrobe do’s and don’ts can be overwhelming. It’s much more important for you to be comfortable and feel like your genuine self. While you may want to coordinate colors to your partner or make sure you compliment the location you choose, it’s essential you both feel at ease. Like Ivy and Barrett, a photo change for different locations is a great way to switch things up. I’m always happy to help you with any wardrobe and color coordination decisions.

  • Focus on each other and have fun!

    I’ll be there to guide and direct as needed, so you never have to worry about posing or where to put your hands. My goal is to ensure you enjoy every moment together and forget I’m even taking photos.

  • Let your personality shine!

    Every couple – and every love – is so wondrously unique. The thing that glues you together is one-of-a-kind. Are y’all constantly being goofy? Don’t hold back your silly side! Love getting dressed up? Go all out! Did you bond over pizza? Let’s grab a pizza! I want my couples to feel like they can unabashedly show up as who they are. That’s when the photos speak for themselves.
